Faith Overseas Mission
Faith Overseas Mission is a church planting ministry in the Philippines.

As a young man surrendered to the Lord’s pastoral calling on his life, Pol Apoong and his wife, Violet, came to California in the early 70’s to study at Bible college. They desired to go back to the Philippines as missionaries but the mission boards of that day, not wanting to send nationals to their own countries, rejected them for support. Dr. James Parker, a pastor and friend of Dr. Pol’s from seminary, offered for his church to take them on and send them to the field. They planted First Biblical Baptist Church of Dagupan and in 1986 Golden State School of Theology (now Faith Baptist School of Theology) was founded.
The Lord has blessed this school with numerous graduates and churches. FOM is a nationally led ministry and each of our churches are pastored by Filipino men and is autonomous. FOM is currently supporting 13 churches across Pangasinan, 2 in Manila and one on the island of Negros Oriental. Churches that no longer need support by FOM often choose to remain inside the fellowship, participating in Pastors meetings, conferences and church fellowships.

WHAT WE DO
The mission statement of FOM can be summarized in “Planting Churches, Preaching Christ.”
FOM believes in the crucial and instrumental role of the local church in reaching the world with the Gospel of Christ.

Through the partnership of of churches and individuals in America, pastors and churches in the Philippines are equipped to dedicate their lives to this and through our local churches we are seeing the Lord reach communities, families, and individuals for Christ. Each church has weekly home Bible studies, children’s outreaches, and prayer meetings. Not only are these effective in shaping hearts and lives with God’s Word, they strengthen and encourage families; they give the young people a safe and spiritually rewarding way to spend free time; they provide a community and family for those who may be the only Believer in their family.

Our local churches seek to model given in the New Testament and the Lord is blessing them with much fruit.
